Home track- Woodburn Drag strip
Bio: I first started drag racing in 1960 at Fremont Drag strip in California. The car was a 1950 Plymouth with a six-cylinder flat head motor. I then stepped up to a 1940 Ford C-gas car with a 303 olds motor. I later put a 400-ci olds motor in the car with six carburetors and a cadlasale race box. I raced that car for about 4 years until I rolled it at Salinas Drag strip in 1966. I built another 1940 Ford and raced it in ct gas until later 1967. In 1968 I got drafted into the Army, which ended my drag racing for two years. When I got out of the Army I decided to race things that lasted longer. I took up motocross, then midgets, then snowmobiles, and after many years of that back to drag racing in 1987. When I came back to drag racing I raced super gas for five years and then decided to build the 37 Chevy. I thought it would be a good idea to race a car that I built the body for. So as you can see I have a great love for racing. Once you have this sickness, it never leaves your blood system.
I would like to thank all of the racers and spectators for their support of our great class. Also I would like to thank Jesus for blessing my life with the opportunity to do what I love and giving me a great wife that puts up with all of this.
