Bob started drag racing in the late 1960’s.  He raced his 40 Ford

coupe in C/Modified production.  The 40 was his first car, and he

still owns it today.  Bob next raced a 32 Bantam B-altered

roadster -- the “Screaming Yellow Zonker”, and then a 1967

Camaro Pro-gas.

It was during the early 1980’s that Bob purchased the ’68

Chevelle that was to be his “next” race car.  The Chevelle went

through numerous transitions and several paint colors before

it became the car it is today.  It would be years before the

Chevelle made it down the track in competition.  In the

meantime, he purchased a ’64 Chevelle with a 454 Big Block that

his son Scott raced for a Hot Rod National victory at Woodburn

Drag strip.  From then on, Scott was hooked too.

From the early days with his 40 Ford, Bob had always loved the

fat fendered cars of his youth.  In 2001, he bought the ’41 Willys.

Scott raced it as a Pro-Nostalgia car in 2003.  It was during

the 2003 campaign that Bob met Mel Bryson, Bill Fitting, Jim

Taylor and the AA Gasser group.  They invited him to join their

group with the Willys.  Influenced by Mel, and the friendliness

and help of the group, the conversion was made.  The Willys

became a AA Gasser car driven by Bob White.  The ’68 Chevelle

was converted to the  Pro-Nostalgia class and was driven by

Scott White in 2004.  It was during this season that Scott won

the Hot Rod National  Race at Bremerton Drag strip.

In 2007 the team scored two wins and another season points runner-up

finish.  For 2008 the team has decided to fine tune the new combination

by building a larger motor and adding some light weight Strange chasis

components.
